Radical Research & Re-storying Agency (RRA) is an architectural-research agency grounded in decolonial methodologies. We re-contextualize space and reveal the multiple stories that shape our world.

Radical Research & Re-storying Agency (RRA) is an architectural-research agency committed to decolonial methodologies. Through research, publications, and community collaborations, we challenge dominant spatial histories and highlight overlooked narratives. Our work fosters radical discourse, bridging disciplines to reimagine architecture, history, and identity collectively.

We offer Research and Consultation packages to architecture firms.

Our work utilises research into historical and spatial analysis. We recognise that architects are visual thinkers therefore our work is both a critical analysis and a visual investigation. We re-appropriate architectural tools like digital modelling, 3D animation, GIS cartographic mapping in order to show that space, is in fact, political and there are a plethora of factors existing within context that must be included in the creation of architecture.

Who we are.

Victoria McKenzie (she/her)

Fiona Cuypers-Stanienda (she/her)
Partner / Visual and Communication Lead

AA Dipl. M.Arch. ARB/RIBA Part II,
Architectural Association, UK

Fiona Cuypers-Stanienda is an architectural designer and analog photographer whose work explores the emotional and political relationships between people and space. Trained at the Architectural Association in London, ETH Zurich, and the University of the Arts Berlin, her practice uses photography as a method of research—grounded in slow observation, deep listening, and human connection.

At RRA, Fiona leads visual strategy and communication, contributing her lens as both a designer and storyteller. Her work uncovers overlooked spatial narratives—revealing how architecture, identity, and memory intersect in lived experience. She brings particular focus to methods of spatial storytelling that foreground intimacy, presence, and long-term dialogue.

Her project My Favourite Space spans cities and continents, exploring how public and private spaces reflect broader systems of belonging, precarity, and home. Fiona’s work has been featured in Architect’s Journal, Wallpaper, and REAL, and exhibited at the AA Bookshop in London and the British School at Rome.
